You know the one...the dog who knew when something was wrong before you said a word. The one who has logged more miles with you than any human being, who has seen your worst days and your best ones, and somehow managed to love you through all of them no matter your mood or how you looked or felt.
They are not just your dog. They are your ride-or-die. Your warmth on a Maine winter morning, and adventure partner on a Maine Summer evening. The one you tell things to that you have never told anyone else.
They are the dog who came into your life, gave you everything, and asked for nothing in return. The dog who become such an integral part of your life that even spending forever with them would never be enough time.
Simply put, that is a Soul Dog. And if you’re lucky enough to have one, you know that bond is something so special that it is worth celebrating.

Imagine enjoying a gorgeous Maine Summer morning, with your soul dog by your side, and flipping through the pages of a beautifully printed book. And then there you are. You and your dog. Your portraits. And Your story. The perfect blend of capturing not only what makes your dog so special and unique, but also encompassing what you love most about them, all in one place.
Soul Dog Stories is a limited-edition fine art photography project crafted to celebrate soul dogs and their families, while helping those who are still waiting at their chance to find a home.
Your portrait, and your story, will be permanently featured in the Soul Dog Stories hardcover book, created in partnership with Midcoast Humane. And every session held, and copy of the book sold continues to raise money for the dogs still waiting for their own story to unfold.

Step one
Apply
Fill out the short application below. Tell me all about your dog, and what makes them so special to you. There is no right or wrong answer here, and this is your time to share anything and everything about your dog!

Step two
Receive Your Invitation
If your dog is selected, you will hear from me personally. From there, you will secure your spot with a session fee and session agreement. This experience includes your fine art portrait session and your dog's guaranteed feature in the published book.

Step three
The Letter
After your session, I want to reflect and embrace the bond that you and your dog share. Dive deep into what your soul dog truly means to you, and write down what you have always felt, but maybe never have said. Turn this into a letter to your dog, it can be about anything! A difficult time they helped you through, how they are your best friend, or the chapters of life that you have shared with them by your side.

Step four
Your Session
We will schedule your session at a beautiful location in Southern or Midcoast Maine. You and your dog’s only job is to meet me at our location, and enjoy the experience! I will take care of the rest.

Step five
The Reveal
After your session, we will meet to go through the very best portraits from your day. From fine art prints, wall portraits, and digital file collection, there is a variety of mediums to enjoy your images.. There is no obligation to purchase anything, however most pet parents end up falling in love with their images and decide to invest in bringing them to life.

Step six
The Book
When Soul Dog Stories is published, you and your Soul Dog will be a permanent feature. Your portraits, and story beautifully displayed alongside your letter to them. Copies of the book are are not included in your session or session fee, and can be purchased separately to help continue supporting Midcoast Humane.

Registration Details:
- Session Fee: $95
- Your fee covers your portrait session, unlimited planing, personalized reveal session, Soul Dog Stories blog highlight, and your dog's permanent feature in the book.
- Giving Back: $50 from every session fee is donated directly to Midcoast Humane. Also, a portion of every book sale continues to support their work and goes directly to their animals in need. Together, our goal is to raise $5,000 for the animals still waiting for their family and a happy ending to their story.

Midcoast Humane has been dedicated to the amazing work they do for over 75 years. They care for nearly 3,500 animals each year across their campuses in Brunswick and Edgecomb, serving 39 towns along Maine's Midcoast. Every animal that comes through their doors receives medical care, a safe place to land, and entire team dedicated to them finding their own forever homes.
By participating in Soul Dog Stories, a portion of every session fee and every book sold goes directly to Midcoast Humane and the animals still waiting for their own family to find them. Your dog's story helps give another dog the chance at theirs

Hey there, I’m Gina. And if you’re here, it is probably because your dogs are your whole world too. I am a big believer that dog people are the best people, and I am so glad to see you here. Because, just like you, I am also obsessed with my dogs. You see this sugar-and-spice colored old gal? That is Peanut. And single handedly owe her my entire business. She was my first model, and my reason behind why I built my business the way I have, honoring the dogs across Maine and New England who are so much more than just pets.
I’m a born and raised Mainer who has dedicated herself refining my craft for clients. I am the only multi-award winning and published Pet Photographer in Maine with a Master Level Photography Degree. I am also really proud to say I am currently the most decorated Pet Photographer in all of New england. This means that when we work together, not only will your dogs will be treated as if they were my own, with their happiness and well-being as my top priority, but that your images will be technically flawless and emotionally captivating. In short, your images will be exactly as you’ve always imagined while your dogs receive the same love, care, attention and support any of my own dogs would.

You know that specific, unrepeatable feeling when your dog finds you in a room they did not even know you were in? The way their whole body wiggles with excitement like they hadn’t just seen you five minutes before? And how you can’t help but smile every time it happens? Well, that is what it feels like to walk past your dog's portrait on the wall every single morning.
After your session, we will meet to over the best portraits from our time together. You’ll be able to choose your favorites and how you would like to enjoy them. From digital image packages, art wall portraits, albums, fine art prints and keepsakes, there is something for every pet parent’s space, taste, budget, and vision.
There is no obligation to purchase anything after your session, however from one pet parent to another, once you see the portraits of your dog, it will be hard not to fall in love with them!

The short answer - ABSOLUTELY. These sessions are not just for rescue dogs, they’re for ALL soul dogs and their families.

No off leash? No problem! I’m here to let you in on a secret, 99% of dogs that I photograph are actually on lead! I will provide special collars and long leads that are easily removed in photoshop, so it looks like your dog was off leash the entire time!

No training is no problem here! Your pup’s portrait sessions isn’t about stellar obedience, it is about letting them be 100% themselves. From zoomies in all directions, to exploring their surroundings, there has never been a dog, no matter the training level, that I haven’t been able to create breathtaking one-of-a-kind portraits of!

Honestly, dogs are kind of like potato chips in my mind, you can’t ever have just one! And if you have more than one pup in your household, it just wouldn’t be fair to not create art from your session featuring them all! Simply choose the number of total dogs you have and upgrade to the Signature Session option on your application.

Of course you can be in the photos with your dog! To ensure that we have enough time to truly capture the bond that you two share, you’ll want to upgrade to the Adventure Session option on your application! The best part? Adventure Sessions come with a custom location, so we take your photos where you have always dreamed of having them done!

Have no fear, all dogs who apply and are accepted for this book project are 100% promised a beautiful one-portrait feature. However, these sessions are strictly limited to 20 dogs. All spots will fill quickly, so if you'd like to support a great cause while having custom portraits of your pup, don’t delay your application!

Is specialize in finished pieces of art. These means custom crafted pieces that arrive ot you ready to display. and admire. However, I also understand that artwork is not every pet parent’s favorite medium to enjoy. This is why I also offer digital image collections for those pet parents who prefer a digital medium.

If you are not available for the standard dates/times for a standard session, you are welcome to join the project and our fundraising efforts by booking a Full Signature Session instead!

If you are invited to join the Soul Dog Stories project, we will discuss dates and times I have available! If you feel your dog needs more time, your you would like more time to capture portraits of you and your dog, your best option is to upgrade to an Signature Session! These come with a longer session length allowing for more time and freedom throughout your session!

Sessions will be held throughout Southern and Midcoast Maine during 2026, and possibly 2027, depending on session availability. Travel fees may apply at 72 cents/mile for sessions over 30 miles outside of 04032.

This is such a great question, because at the heart of this project, we are helping fellow dogs in need! Fundraising is done through the session fees, purchase of the published booked, cooperate sponsorship, and prior to publishing, we'll I’ll host a donate-to-vote cover contest with proceeds benefiting Midcoast Humane. Our goal is to raise $5000 for them!
